4wd repetitive clicking noise

I知 sure I知 annoying some of you guys by now lol. But maybe this can help me make up my mind on a purchase. Anyway the t4r I知 looking at does go into 4wd but the lights blink for a while then a clicking fast repetitive clicking noise for a few seconds. Like a starter noise makes with a very weak battery. Not 1 click but a fast buzz type clicking probably counting by thousands I壇 say 3- 4 seconds.. 4wd is very finicky..You sometimes have to play with the 4wd shift lever to get it to go in. This was a jersey vehicle so I知 sure 4wd was used at least a few times a year ..Has anyone had this issue or know what it could be?

If you're looking at the 01 the clicking is somewhat normal when engaging the AWD on the shifter. If it's clicking it's trying to engage, and is not engaged. When I engage mine I put it in neutral, and then back into drive. Usually when I switch from neutral to drive it'll engage.
