Sudden Squealing Belt

so yesterday I started up my truck and a belt squealed. Nothing really new with that as it's happened from time to time, but this time it didn't stop. It would go away but the moment I applied the gas it squealed. And it continued for the entire trip I was on. I stopped turned off the truck and it continued when I started it up again.

It had just snowed and melted off and was probably in the 30's as to temp.

Thoughts?

bar soap for short term belt squeal stop

Well its loose so if you or someone else has the tools, need to figure out which is loose and snug it up or perhaps the belt is going bad? - again check.

but in the meantime you can take a bath soap bar and VERY CAREFULLY rub some on the inside of the belt, this will stop the squeal short term. Luck.

Your belt has stretched a bit like they all do, high humidity cool temps telling you time tighten it or replace it. Like @jgue467 says try soap on both sides of belt till you can do it. You can do it not running, apply what you can bump starter apply more till you cover all of belt sides. Would live a mark you get finger in pulley running.
