97 to 99 maf swap now check engine light??
I did a maf swap to 99 now i have a p0171 lean code. Anyone has the same experience. Check tube for crack, clean new maf sensor. Light come on about a day later.

Nope. Either you really do have a vacuum leak somewhere in the new intake or the sensor is no bueno. I'm guessing you already looked up the wiring change that you need to do on the connector?

Apologies for the noob question - but just curious what the benefit of this swap would be? Better fuel economy? More power?

If your MAF fails, the newer style ones can be had new for about $60.00, as opposed to $400.00 for the old turbine style. It's an easy swap if you can also get your hands on a 99+ air box.
For those of us that have a supercharger that craves more air flow, yes it's about power.

Thank you guys! Found the problem, the part number was wrong on the mass air flow sensor. Part number from evay Denso 22010 wrong, correct 21010. I know some or you guys are familiar with some previous post on the right maf!

I just change the air tube part from a Volvo instead of the while box! Yes i readed one of your previous posts on the right maf sensor from ebay!😁

Glad you caught it! I'm surprised it actually ran with the wrong part number, the ECU was probably seeing voltage readings that were out of normal operating range.
