Confirm manufactor substitute part number - Lower control arm bushing

Hi T4R, I am working on ordering parts for my front end rebuild. Ordering the lower control arm bushing I ordered two 48061-35050 and two 48061-35040. What was shipped was four of part number 48061-35040. When questioned about it they said "The manufacturer substitutes part numbers at their discretion. We have no say in it at all and our system adjusts the part numbers according to their data automatically".

Can any confirm the part numbers are interchangeable? From everything I keep finding that is not the case.

Thanks.

Both those part #s are still available on the websites I use. If a part is no longer available then it will say it online somehow and what the substitute part is. I bought those parts years ago and I do remember them being different somehow. Where did you get the parts?

The 48061-35040 are the front bushings, and the 48061-35050 are the rear bushings. I believe the 35050 is a bit shorter than the 35040.

I would say they are NOT interchangeable.

You guys are confirming what I suspected. Parts are coming from amayama.com as camelback and the likes will not ship to me in Canada.

I looked on their own parts look up again and they are listed as separate part numbers. I also called my local stealership who also confirms they are different.

Front axle arm & steering knuckle for Toyota 4Runner VZN185L - Auto parts

I will try again to reason with Amayama.

Thanks gents.

I heard back from Amayama today.

The manufacturer has made the substitution themselves. We can't request that they go back on it. It doesn't matter what a Toyota dealer says, the manufacturer has stated that the substitute part number will be supplied in lieu of the original. They state that the substitution will install, and perform exactly like the original. Our website will be updated once the substitute part has been received and scanned in.

Long shot but does anyone have these parts laying around or off hand know the overall length prior to install? Particularly 48061-35050 as I can check it against other when it arrives. I am asking for a refund but we will see how that goes.
