Stuff that can be done to make the back end less skittish?

To stop the back end skitting/fishtailing over bumps and washboard? I know the panhard mount drop is supposed to help a lot, using lower tire pressure, and probably having some weight in the back. And the speed you are going is a big factor on washboard.

I have 3rd gen Bilstein 6112 (2.75" lift) in front and Tundra Bilstein 5100 + OME 890 in the back (3" of lift). I re-tensioned the control arm bushings and panhard bushing at the lifted height, and have longer end-links installed. Should I be using different rear shocks with a faster? slower? rebound or what?

The tundra billies in the back are probably good, or softer than needed, they are a pickup truck shock, but also a heavier duty truck than the 4runner. They are also progressively valved.

I find running about 100# of weight in the back, or an aftermarket bumper with tire carrier, helps keep the rear tracking well over bumps. The EIK panhard extension is a must if you lifted your truck.

Can’t speak from experience, but the @eimkeith PCK gets rave reviews for that specific issue it’s in my to do list in the future as well. From my understanding, most of the rear end “walking” comes from the rear axles geometry, not necessarily the shocks being run. Also wouldn’t hurt to put in fresh bushings in your rear control arms

Get that EIMKeith PCK! It is a game changer.

I also went for 906s on the back, as I spend 90% of my time commuting on highways. Set the front 1/2" lower, so when I do load up (camping gear, not a hardcore offroader, so no heavy tools etc.) there is no "sag".

I put 200 lbs. of weight behind the rear seat. Rides beautifully now.

I replaced my worn out rear lower control arms with Rokmen ones and it totally solved my sloppy rear. I’d look at the condition of yours.

If you're thinking a bolt on drop, that's about 100000% your problem. It creates a second pivot for the panhard. Super sketch. Get the PCK, be done.
