Got a friend of mine.....

Who has a 2000 sr5 4wd who is replacing his stock shocks and springs all around with another set of stock aftermarket parts due to sag and ride quality from having 250k on it. He got a great deal on used rims and tires that are 2857017's and decided to put a 3" spacer kit on it to fit them. Then he asked me if it will ride bad. I told him I don't think so because he went back with stock parts but it won't ride any better. What do you guys think who have done this?

Adding a 3" lift changes the center of gravity, it'll handle differently. "Ride bad" is subjective, he may not mind the changes at all.

Stock suspension parts provides the softest ride available. If his old parts were shot anything is an improvement.

With the center of gravity change I know it will be more top heavy and sway some, but will it ride more harsh? That's what I'm thinking.

His rear shocks will be too short if he did stock replacement.
