3rd Gen Intermediate Steering Shaft Assembly Q

I have started toying with my Power Steering, and decided to replace the Rack and Pinion, as well as the Power Steering Pump, and Lines. I ran into an issue with the, as the book calls it, Intermediate Steering Shaft Assembly.
The Original Coupler is about toast. Strings coming out, super soft. Was mentioned, by a mechanic, that the fact that i have had no power steering for the better part of 3.5yrs, would have played a role in this.

anyone know where i can get a replacement?

i was looking for OEM, but i am having a hard time finding one.
aftermarket/universal will be good enough. just want my truck back!!!

I think it’s called a rag joint. Anyways, I simply went to my local dealer. Had the guy pull the image. Pointed to what I wanted. And it was like $110.

Replaced that a few months ago but mine didn't look nearly that bad!

I'm almost 100% certain that the remaining slop in my steering wheel is due to the shafts being a bit worn and people have fixed it by tack welding or putting a pin in the shafts.
