It’s the lens hopless diamond posted the part number for.

Now to go over the wire changes needed for converting my dual switch sun roof controls to the newer single switch.

I have a local dealer who’s prices are good so I’ll drop by and order the lens. I’m also thinking about updating the maps on the 2013 Toyota Corolla nav radio I installed.

This site has so much great technical info, would never have gone through the process to figure out the wiring on my own. Of course, now I have yet another partially completed project...

Thanks for the reminder I need part of the harness. Or I need the connector and repin my wires to it so the sun roof works

Newly designed 3rd Gen Scangauge mount

I just ordered the 99 on up rear view mirror. I’m really wondering what the difference is between mine and the newer years. Like can I just cut stuff off the old mount?? I got two 96-98 mirrors. However, I ordered a newer style.

I thought about going junking looking for the mirror and possibly a newer style center console. But my local You Pull It yards have zero to 3 4Runners at any given time and they are usually the 96-98 and high milage with the rear suspension rusted off and 250k miles.

The mirrors themselves are identical, the mounts are different between '99+ and pre-'99.

If you ever need a small part like that, just ping me, the yards here are full of 3rd gens.

If the 99+ mount bolts to the same holes as the 96-98 mount does too me some metal removal might work. However, I have one on the way.

so whats the deal with this? i read through this entire thread and i cant find a FMU. i have no desire to try and track one down and then get bent over on price. i just tried to look on ebay and couldnt find any.

was the other option ever released for the USDM sunglass holders? im sure there are some pics in this thread but i cant see any of them at work. btw, its more like a biz card holder. there is no way you are fitting a pair of sunglasses in mine.

i may just draw my own solution and print it myself.

I have an FMU in my garage looking for a home. I bought it to do this mod, but then decided against it and designed my own mount for the scangauge. I believe the one I have is brand new, but I'm not completely sure.

4Runner leon has graciously offered to sell me his, but the problem is we dont know if the sunroof switch and the overhead lights are a direct plug in play in a 99 limited. can someone help us?

i know nothing about wiring and i dont want to start cutting stuff off my harness. id prefer to have the scan gauge up higher and out of the way.

I looked at the back of the FMU housing, it looks identical to the 99+ console. I can't imagine it's not plug and play, especially since other folks on this thread have done this swap, and have not mentioned having to rewire anything.

Sunroof wiring changed between '96-'98 and '99-'02 trucks... but there are write-ups on how to make the changeover. The FMU's match the early style wiring, as far as I know, but mount like the '99+ glasses console.

The FMU housing I have has identical connectors to the later style consoles, a single blue connector instead of three white ones of the '96-98 models. It'd be plug and play for 99+ models, but would need mods for '96-98 models.
