(Update:Found One)3rd Gen 99 ClassIII Hitch

Looking for a used classIII hitch and about to start calling around junk yards in ME.

Does anyone know if all 3rd gens are same fit? Or would I need a hitch specifically from a 99 thru 02? want something that's a direct fit.

or if someone has one to sell and shipped to 04619 on the Cheap Im open to that also...

any help is most appreciated, 1st post and love this site, wealth of info here is more than formidable.

I live in NB Cda but my buddy has stuff shipped all the time to Ace Hdwr in Calais, picks it up there.

The early and late OEM hitches are a slightly different design between early and late, but will bolt up to all years. The late hitch ('99+) is a single welded piece, the early ('96-'98) hitch bolts together at the cross tube. Both are rated the same.

I worked for an installer and I recommend Curt: Browse Class 3 Hitches from CURT

Amazon always has them at a good deal and while you might have to pay a little more than a junk-yard model, but it'll be new, not rusty, and shipped to your house so you don't have to run around to find one: Amazon Link here

I can taste that $30 Hitch now!!! Can't imagine it would be feasible shipping all the way across the country though. Appreciate the thought nonetheless!

Haha, I have a '97 (2 piece) hitch sitting in the garage for sale. Didn't even offer it due to the huge shipping costs.

thanks for the input!! new is always a better option. In my case i'll literally use the hitch maybe once or twice a year for a little utility trailer for some fall and spring clean up.

Im about to throw a 1000+ in parts on the runner and after going new on a hitch after currency exchange,tx, shipping etc + harness id be around 300-350 which aint in the budget.

cheap, sandpaper & some Tremclad is my vision @momen t
