Will only TRD Tundra coil/struts work on 3rd gens?

I found a 2005 Tundra crew cab during my junk yard visit yesterday. Pulled the coil/struts because they were cheap enough. I've looked and it seems on any parts site the coils are the same for every model Tundra. I know the struts aren't the billys but the truck was fairly low miles. Will these be good enough to run until I find something better and will they lift it? I bought my 4runner recently and there's rubbing with the 265/75/r16s that are on it currently.

Rubbing can be fixed with an alignment. Maxing out the caster will move the wheel forward, giving clearance for those 32's. Lifting leaves the wheel traveling in the same arc and you will still get rubbing (though less around town, it will still rub if not aligned correctly).

The TRD Tundra springs are used because they are progressively wound and give a more comfortable ride. They also have a known lift height for the 4Runner. You can bolt on the ones you got and see if you like it... its only 4 bolts/nuts!

Thanks for the info! I didn't think about bringing the whole wheel forward. My buddy just says remove the mud flaps and beat back the medal a little.. haha

Make sure the top plate matches up with your spring bucket. When you do the TRD swap you end up using the 4runner top plate on the struts.

Swapped top hats and got them put on today. Couple inches of lift, no rubbing and a nice ride. I'm pretty happy. The coils I got were purple/purple and purple/red color coded off a 05 Tundra. Thanks for the info!

Red purple/purple purple springs

Just picked up some red purple and double purple springs on tundra struts, are you still running these ? How much are they going to lift my 98 limited ?
