Automatic transmission 4Runner 2000 Limited 4x4

Hi there.

I just bought a Toyota 4Runner 2000 Limited 4x4 and I need to change the automatic transmission.

Anybody can help me to understand what transmission part do I need to used, I have seen several part numbers and I do not know which one use. Mine have part number 35010-3D820, but in toyota parts online says it is for Tacoma 2.7 Automatic transmission 4Runner 2000 Limited 4x4

I would just go down to the local junk yard, car-parts.com also is a great tool. Buy a used one and swap it over. I believe almost all years are the same as long as you get v6/auto/manual what ever you have now.

The transfer case is what changed a few times.

01-02 will not work due to using electronic kick down, valve bodies vary between years on others.

Call a dealership parts department with your VIN handy and they can confirm what part number you need.

Exactly what I would do if in OP's shoes, this topic has been discussed a bit over the years.

OP, I’m not sure if you’re willing to go through the headache of shipping or know anyone in SoCal but I’m in the middle of a 5-speed swap right now and I just pulled out my auto this morning. It’s a ‘99 with the kick down cable so it should work on your 2000.
