well i found out the shop had bent a 2 tabs and THEY stripped out my eccentric tabs. i called them and they were comprabe. My neighbor currently in bountiful, Utah runs 333 fabrications and recently came out with a "eccenntric eliminator" and i decided instead of running a new eccentric, ill use his new product. becuase it is a square, you can see that it only has 3 different specs to change from vs fine tuning. (positive, neutral, negative) this eliminated the changes of eccentric moving after wheeling and screwing your allignment up. it is suppose to stay the exact same unless you bed the tabs.. oh yeah about that. i go back to the shop and said i wont create a huge fuss and get reimburcements, etc etc if they were to just bend back the tabs that they bent, weld them so they dont bent back, and install these new tabs without charging me, and of course unscrewing their allignment they did. they were cool with that. this is the outcome of all that.
this is the allignment sheet from what they did on friday, to the UPDATED allignment after fixing their mistakes
they told me they had camber issues and had to go to setting E is what i believe they said? they told me if it has ANY rubbing or if it drives shitty on the highway to bring it back and theyll redo it. allignment geeks andy input on the caster job? it drives alright i guess from the slight highway driving and city driving on the way home. well see if it rubs when i go wheeling.
ive been having an issue where i hit the brakes, my lights turn on. i turn my lights on, my brake lights stay on. my license plate bulbs, they intermittently work same with the whole brake/ light issue.. ive been doing mediocre lazy diags and havent replaced anything but a chafed trailer wire that i had thought was the issue.. i was sitting on the john the other day and remembered that older mercedes C/E-Classes have an issue with wires pulling apart in the trunk area creating really weird symptoms with lights, locks, etc.. I HAVE TO CHECK THIS! i pull my boot where the cab meets the hatch, and lone behold... my issue. not a bad find eh?
repaired the wires and tested. all is good now.
on the other note, i just got a brand new 2020 trek remedy 8 MTB. with my Sherpa rack being loaded up, not having a rear hitch carrier, i wanted to do something out of the box.. something unique... my plan is to make a bracket system flush with the top of the side piece of the matterhorn and mount my bike via a hitch and buckle system to secure it. i think its going to be a genius idea. this is what i saw after some searching, and this is what im going to be making out of 1/2'' aluminum and gusseted (front thru-axle bracket)
