thanks for that link! i may try to copy a comonent he did on it..

as for the vision X light cannons, i really like them. its cool that they offer covers that are different color for different situations, and different beam patterns. i have the 10º beam pattern so its not very wide but wow are the hot spots bright.. since they are a bit older technology im really interested in trying some BD LP6's. this will be later down the road and have other stuff id like to get done first.

My old spots are some old ANZO 4" HIDs so I'm sure these will be a massive improvement. I got them on a deal that was too good to pass up so figured why not. I'll have to check out the different covers as well.

I'll be envious of those BD LP6s when you do decide on them. I've heard nothing but great things about them. I was actually looking at them until the deal popped up on the Vison X's and I figured these would suffice for now.

Anyways, sub'd to see where this build takes you. Looks like there's some solid travels to come.

storage panels and drawer repair

at moab i sent a jump doing about 70. its been really hard to open up my drawers since.. i think i mightve found the issue?

IMG_3325
IMG_3323

the MCC drawers were stabled in and just had seperated from most likely the impact. i took them out and drilled/screwed in between staples for maximum strength.. i think theys are fly-proof now

i installed storage panels from outbound nevada. ive been working on releasing a product that'd be great for these cool storage panels! still working out the kinks.

IMG_3328

lastly i finally settled in utah and got a job at bean trailer; fabricating custom roffroad trailers.if youre in the SLC PM me and lets meet up!

-rear dual usb and cigarette outlet with a switch to turn them on or off
-luke hixsons "lemmie out" rear hatch lever
-paper towel holder

-36" drawer sliders with locking tabs for my MCC drawers
-fix broken rubber dampner for exhaust hanger at the tail pipe
-tundra brakes
-finish custom bike rack system for sherpa matterhorn roof rack

im done building my bike rack for the 4runner. this is how it turned out. luckily the sherpa equipment rack is hefty enough to support it without warping or bending. i still need to do some tweaks but it fits real nicely overall. i need to fix my driver lean, and to adjust my kings that ive been lazy about

bigger update!

well ive now driven past 30,000 miles since i moved from Alaska January 19th, and the truck has honestly gave me little to no issue. after so much bike trips, wheeling trips, and camping, you can tell she was starting to get tired.. THIS is the type of stuff im talking about

as you can see from a small portion of my adventures, she needed some love..

- i started with shattering a headlight housing, which lead me into color-matching my housings to my TRD PRO wheels (gunmetal grey) with leaving the chrome shroud on.. looks great! i was very iffy from leaving the chrome to going to a color but it turned out very clean and subtle.

- ended up re-adjusting the king coilovers as i was starting to get a lot of rake after they broke in..

- i recently have been feeling as if my clutch is nearly done for, engaging really late and seemed to be holding onto dear life.. i was about to pull the trigger on a LCE clutch kit until i decided to send black bear pass with the sketchy clutch issue.. to my surprise, my friend un-jammed my master cylinder threads and i was able to adjust my clutch even further! i had adjusted clutches before but it just stopped and boogered up, leading me to thing i was at the end of adjustment on my master cylinder.. he is a toyota technician and recommended me 3 parts; slave cylinder, master cylinder, and a different style clutch spring. after ordering all 3 from toyota, i performed an EASY swap over with my brand new aisin parts and my clutch feels great again!

IMG_5065
IMG_5067

- my CV axles have been starting to make gnarly noises and pops/bangs so i decided i might as well swap them with NAPA lifetime warranty CV axles and keep these 2 as spares while have the chance.. a little smooth talking later (told them i worked at the local dealership next door and to put it on their account for massive discount ) and i ended up with 2 CV axles for under $100, and two lifetime (adaptive one brand) Tundra calipers for $140!

- my brakes have been toasted for awhile now and figured i was TIRED of the noises, shakes, and pulling on heavy braking. i called up toyota dealer and ordered OEM rotors and pads ( with shim kit ) for the new brake setup! painted the calipers blue to match my king coilover springs, cut my dust shields, and installed the TBU in 57 minutes.

IMG_5143
IMG_5145

- i recently got a new job these past few months being a fabricator for a sprinter van conversion shop.. we get great deals on a lot of stuff and i really like the quality/look of our LED ceiling lights we use, and all out on/off button switches.we use 5500K lights for a classy look inside and we had a bunch of 6500K lights collecting dust on the shelf. i took them and installed them onto my truck! the 6500's are temporary until i get new 5500K's ( the pure white just looks way too cheap to me now) i installed 2 on the ceiling and 2 on the hatchback to use as my "kitchen" lights and are connected to 2 separate switched on the upper panel in the rear. ill be doing a full in depth writeup when i get the new ceiling lights in!

IMG_5049

- installed USB/ cigarette ports with constant power (on a switch) on driver side rear hatch area

-installed RAM mount onto center bezel cover in the cockpit for my phone/tablet

-custom pieces to my blackout curtain setup back from water-jet

- installed one additional Baja Designs LP9 race light. i found a killer deal for a single lp9 on craigslist and ended up getting it with a pair of squadrons for $120.. with only having 1 and dont care to fork up more money on lights (nearly $600 for a light) i decided to just mount it in the middle for now. it doesn't look terrible but sort of looks like mike wazouski.. laugh all you want but this sucker in combination with my light cannons are CRAZY bright!

IMG_3315

with winter coming in the next few months id like to have more prep on protecting my frame for this winter in these harsh salt lake city winters.. rust is my biggest fear on this build and want to keep it as rust free as possible.. i am getting my ARB lockers shipped from alaska down to me this week.. hoping to have 4.88's/ARB's in by late october

thats it for now!

Rock Therapy 2020

This weekend was rock therapy!!! met up and camped/wheeled with the sherpa boys this weekend over at moab.. WHAT A BLAST. baby lion back, fins & things, poison, spider, and metal masher all achieved with ease(kind of)

lucy didnt break anything but theres a few things im having issues with.... after wheeling with the group, it stuck out like a sore thumb.. I NEED 35's. this winter will be a fun on in terms of transformation

anyways, heres the pictures of everything

before the trip i had created another platform for my MCC drawer system, installed a ram mount attatchment to my dash bezel, and installed some tabs to hold my fridge in place when camping.. i have a MC stainless clutch line coming in (mine leaks and sucks in air to the clutch system).. theres a few brackets i need to fabricate for various things that i will be completing this week

big updates soon

well, after countless wheeling trips this summer, nearly living at work, lack of maintenance, some big updates are in order.. soon.

IMG_5958

in the meantime... im on headlights 4.0 version. this time i ran a bit of a darker grey, stuck with chrome shrouds but on a turbine and added some 110mm halo's. 5.0 is in the near future i dont like how dark the housings are. i also recently cut my ARB bumper and folded pinch lines. i now dont rub anywhere with my 33's lock/bump. im also on my 7th alignment since april due to experimental stuff and trying to find the SPC settings i like best in correlation with my 333fab cam eliminators.

IMG_5803 2
IMG_5804

IMG_5327
IMG_5295
IMG_5360
IMG_5429

the other night i was driving home late at night and heard an actual pipe bomb go off in my truck.. i imediately pull over and inspected for damage and found nothing.. i drive home to take another inspection and found this..

IMG_5429

my friend believes i i ran over half a leaf spring that was road lane painted by the UDOT.. while i really want to create a claim i knew they wouldnt get to it by the time it would be starting to rust here in SLC.. i bit the bullet and pulled majority of the bents back out, welded it back together and primed for final repair this weekend.. since i live in a salt state now, things need to be beefed up for anti-rust protection..
