Would you change oil

Drop my truck off at my buddies shop for the oil change today which I usually supply AMSOIL for the past 135000 miles. New didn’t read the memo and used a generic filter and some random shop Dino oil. Would you ride it around for a couple thousand miles or change it back immediately? Currently at 183k.

These engines are very forgiving for oil choices. Dino, synthetic, cheap or quality, the engine runs well on all of them. I have run AMSOIL, cheapo dino oil, Royal Purple etc. Synthetics do gently break down any sludge or varnish in the engine though, which is nice.

Just remember to change the oil again after 3k miles or so (depending if you meet the standard or severe service intervals), don't go 10k miles on it lol!

In the future, do your own oil changes so you know it's done right.

It's oil. Run it if it's the right weight.
