Maybe a little on the high side but if its rust/accident free and up to date on maintenance I wouldn't have an issue paying around that if you're set on a 3rd gen. Thing would probably go for 12 here in Colorado.

My 2 cents: while the price is a little high, what they have is rare....a 4WD T4R with low mileage that looks to be in VG shape. You are also in a part of the country where prices for most things are higher than normal.
I would run a Carfax and do a visual for paint/body work or evidence of an accident. See if all maintenance has docs.
Try to buy it around 8 grand, but at the end of the day, do not lose this car (if it checks out) for a few hundred dollars.
Good luck,
Eddie

^^guessing the mileage and cleanliness?
I'd maybe pay that for a 5spd and locker but i got extremely lucky and dont have a real say in what these are worth.

Wow nice find. If they were meticulous with the servicing and have all the paperwork to prove it and everything checks out, I say go for it and maybe offer 8k first then negotiate. I don't see this one hanging around long.. Good Luck.

I'd also say that's high. Low mileage of course, but not ridiculously low. If the seller has great repair records and it looks well taken care of, then it might be worth it.

Price seems pretty in line with west coast prices from what I've seen. I bet if you don't buy it for that, someone else will. Good economy means sought after things don't come cheap.

I'd pay $8k for it. The owner might not budge on the price given that it's a west coat 4runner.

quality west coast 4runners do pull a premium. Ad good ones at a good price in Oregon last about a day, I paid a premium for mine in portland and was worth it , esp when I see all the rust pictures of all the rust belt cars.
Im third owner, both previous owners had all work done at the same dealer and had all service records
so service records would be nice, with all the stickers on the timing belt cover , maybe its had the belt done already ( its due if not)

Thanks for the input all. He texted me and asked if I could come by tonight to take a look since He has an inbox full of people asking to buy it. He said since I spoke up first I get first crack at it. He's also a neighbor. Been stalking his 3rd gen for weeks now. He's got a cement trdp in the driveway too. Looking like it's gonna be $9k.
Happy Monday!

Yepper and no surprise.
Very nice of him to give you first crack. If it checks out, get it.
You are going to love it and you've found the T4R promised land here.
Update the thread with your impressions and better pix once it's in your driveway.
Good luck,
Eddie

These vehicles run for so long! That is a huge premium to pay for one that hasn't been driven.
A lot of the stuff one would need to replace (bushings, solenoids, t-belt, etc.) can age out nearly as fast when sitting idle, anyway.

100% worth that price and will sell at that price.
This truck is cleaner than ones I have seen on Bring a Trailer that have gone north of $10K. The front accessory skid plate (specific to this trim and year only) is completely straight just like how it came from the factory. Most I have seen are bent and crooked.
If it drives as well as it looks, I'd cut a check on the spot.

Good luck. That thing is real clean. Other than removing the radiator to prevent the milkshake and possibly having to change the TB, it looks golden.
I like the head unit. If you buy it post a pic or two of the unit, very neat.
