As Charlie was pointing out, the front springs don't really seem to deteriorate with age. You may be replacing these with no good reason. It tends to be the rears that sag out with time.

In the front, if you are a 98, you are likely only going to see a 5mm -ish increase in spring length with the 99s or about a 1/2 inch increase in ride height. That's a lot of bucks spent for that.

My reasoning is because it has 230k miles on the front springs, ive already replaced ev bushing in the susupension, many of which were highly deteriorated, and I know how I drive my truck. So to now start doing more back country stuff with a loaded trailer, well....it's piece of mind. An extra $200-300 is entirely worth it.

I'm not doing this for lift and chose the 99's because toyota isn't selling 98 springs anymore. So how long before '99 talls aren't available? Seems prudent to me.
