OME trim packers on rear 5th gen springs?

Not sure if anyone has tried this or knows the answer. I am putting a set of rear 5th gen springs on my 97 4runner soon. People seem to use the OME trim packers to lift a little bit more. The OME trim packers are different for 3rd and 5th gen 4runners. So if I did add these I am not sure which ones I would use with the 5th gen springs???? If anybody has any idea that would be great. Thanks,

Thanks for that info. Just to clarify. So the 2nd picture shows the rear 5th gen springs being used with 3rd gen trim packers? Also, did you use 1 or 2 trim packers on each side? Thanks for posting this info too. Sweet, I have the same wheels as you too.

Yes, correct. 5th gen springs (2014), 3rd gen spring packers, one on each side. Your springs may be a tiny bit loose at full droop still, but there is no way they would fall out. Ride height is right at 22" center of hub to fender lip.

5th gen springs are slightly larger in diameter than the stockers, but they have been working fine so far (though, I'm still considering getting 2906's when I have the chance).

I have the same setup (5th gen rear springs in a '97), and I like the height and the ride.

One thing that bothers me is that like said above, the 5th gen spring is somewhat bigger in diameter than the 3rd gen, so it does not automatically get centered on the seat during installation. I tried to centered it as best I could, but I am sure it moved a little. And with the spring not centered, a portion of it sort of hangs off the spring seat. I don't think it's going to outright fail, but I would like to find a way to center the spring on the seat.

Would the trim packers do that, or are they only for increasing ride height?

The trim packers don't help center the 5th gen springs; when you install the TP's, you take the bumpstop cone out of the spring, slide the cone through the TP's, then reinsert the cone into the spring. So when your done, the cone is still the commonality between the spring and frame. I just did this btw and its a great setup. If I ever decide to move my 5100's up a notch I will add another TP to the rear.
