Thanks for the reminder, I had forgotten about that, I've seen it suggested in pretty much every trans cooler install video regardless of vehicle.

ORDERED!

Thank you, I appreciate it!

Where is a good place to order the Toyota Trans Filter? I've been reading that Camelback Toyota is not the low-cost option they used to be. Also, if I get it from them I pay sales tax because I'm in state.

Suggestions?

Thanks again fellas, I really appreciate the help!

Transmission temps (after engine warmup) range from 176.0 to 226.4, averaging between 198 and 219. Still way too high in my opinion.
What do you think IS ideal for trans temps? Most are designed to run optimally around 180*F. Most will get less efficient below maybe 140*F. You really only need about 20*F 'extra' cooling for your truck is running now - which for Arizona summer is pretty good.

It still looks like your coolant temps are on the high side, but nothing critical. A coolant change shouldn't change temps, that is controlled by the thermostat. Also, water is much better at heat transfer than coolant - coolant is in the system to raise the boiling temp, lower the freezing temp and to inhibit corrosion.

An electric fan in front of your New trans cooler will lower temps about 25-35 degrees, both sitting at a light and driving down the road.

Ask me how I know.....

I would try Fleabay, just type in Toyota 35330-30020. Some members have used a gasket when reinstalling, thought I used the designated Toyota tranny FIPG.

Good luck with everything. Post the ATF numbers you are seeing afterwards. Then sometime later you can do a full ATF drain and fill.

Not sure how you get that much cooling from a fan. I too have a pusher fan on my in line tranny cooler and it doesn't do jack. I really wish it did. Im regularly over 200 right now in the summer months. Currently 100 degrees outside and was pushing 210. I almost feel like I need another cooler. I've already got the bigger one.

I’m in AZ, several months ago I suffered from high transmission temps. My issue ended up being the lock up solenoid. Unfortunately the consistent high temps resulted in a new transmission.

Even after installing a new transmission and a cooler i was still seeing 200-210 in AZ summer. Swapped out the fan clutch and added a different radiator and now i’m what would be considered “normal”

this is pre and post.

When I first used it I thought it didn't do much but then I noticied I have to wait a little while, maybe 5-8 mins before the cooling really takes affect. It is a 10" fan, one with curved blades, 80watt, something like 2300 CFM I believe, just a cheapo off ebay, came with 2 fans yet just installed one. Luck.
