Crazy "dual transmission" eBay ad
Found this ad for a 96 4Runner with a dual transmission! What the hell is a dual transmission? Price is right though! Any thoughts? Hope this link works.

Any way a manual ever came with an automatic transfer case? I'm pretty sure the owner thinks the 4WD shifter is a transmission shifter.

What if he’s right?
Love how matter of fact he is. Hood is fully oxidized and he says ‘great condition as far as paint and body, slight color fade’.
Looks like an alright truck. Think I’d want to boil the interior tho. Assume it’s a manual? His picture of ‘the main feature’ is a total tease.

The person that wrote that ad is on some really powerful drugs. Ok lets go for a test drive and show me how it works. So you don't have to use the clutch when its in auto mode right?

Copied from the ad for everyone's enjoyment:
Seller Notes: : “With the unique combination of manual (stick) and automatic transmission, this is almost a one of a kind! It's a super on-off road vehicle for anyone interested on the great outdoors without sacrificing in-town use. Loaded with leather and more. I've got to say it again - The best feature is the automatic AND manual (stick) transmission which get you out of tight places and adds to the fun of driving! Nice interior with leather seats. Just a real specimen car, ready to enjoy.”
Description: "The main feature of this vehicle is the dual transmission. You can use either its manual (stick) feature OR you can use the automatic transmission. This vehicle is from 1996 and is in great condition for the year as far as paint and body - no rust, dents, slight color fade. Both trannys work perfectly. Strong motor - strong brakes- strong AC! Good tires. ready to hook up your trailer (has hitch and ball)
Call me for more info - we can discuss fully - 850-510-4692 (EDT) "
Someone needs to call this guy...

It sure looks like a manual trans? Maybe he just puts it in first and then proceeds to rev it to 15,000 rpm to keep up with traffic.

There's a guy on Pirate who has dual manual transmissions. I was hoping for something like that, but alas...

He probably has a dual transfer case... which allows for additional gear reduction in high and low range for crawling.
