2000 3rd Gen Supercharged 5-Speed "Sportland" Build

How she sits as of 7/20/19 -

How she sits as of 7/15/19 -

I just picked up this gem in Texas and drove it home to Colorado! It's an absolutely bone stock 2000 4x4 5-Speed 4Runner with the optional TRD supercharger. I've been looking for about 3 months for a clean one and finally found it! This is my fourth 4Runner and third 3rd Gen, and I can't wait to start the build on it.

The plan is to do a moderate overland build with some "sport" cues mixed in, hence the term i've coined "Sportland". I want something that's functional and reliable, but still fun to drive on a daily basis. Here's what it looks like in all of it's stock glory. I'll be posting all my mods and vehicle progress here!

A great start to any T4R build: clean, stock, soopa-charged. Can't wait to see what this thing turns into!

What a clean looking rig! A good sign it was taken care of was the fact it has dark paint and it doesn't appear to be fading at all. Dark paint gets destroyed in the south! Means someone babied it.

Unfortunately the paint isn't in perfect condition, but it is salvageable. It needs a serious paint correction and detail but thats going to be a project for me next month. Luckily there's no peeling clearcoat.

Houston. I looked all over Craiglist around the country and found this one.

I think the fact that it has a clear coat is enough of a sign that it was taken care of.

Everyone has their version of a unicorn, and the one you picked up is mine! Last year of the manual, first year of the wider sport flares, and this one’s SC’d. Only missing option is E-locker to make it even more of a rare combo IMO. Cheaper to find a locked rear end to retrofit than a SC too. Nice find!

Man, I look at that thing with nostalgia. It's what mine looked like when I first bought it. I even like the running boards and love the fat 5 wheels - still the best Toyota OEM wheel in my opinion.

I would love to have another just as a clean easy driver. That one there... exactly. If only I could find one.

Well, it won't be stock for long. 3" suspension lift, tires and wheels ordered today haha.

Also if you're serious about finding another one, use autotempest.com. You'll thank me later.

Sharp find. I would baseline the truck with fluids, belts, wear and tear items before you go ham on the mods.

Also, I'd fluid film this truck. Heard they're using more corrosive salt on the roads in CO.

I just took it into my local Toyota mechanic and it definitely needs a few small things, but nothing serious. One of those things on the top of the list is all of the major fluid changes.
