More maintenance updates at 127k miles.
I’ve been chasing a squeak in my front suspension for a couple months. It was driving me crazy. It was really weird. If the truck wasn’t driven for about 2 days the squeak would go away for about 50 miles. After that it would gradually get louder until it was just too embarrassing to drive with it. Initially thought it was the steering rack bushings. I needed a new rack so I changed that. Still squeaky. Thought I finally found the problem in the upper ball joints. Changed that and it stopped for about a week and then same thing. I pulled out my mechanics stethoscope and found that the squeak seems to be louder at the lower control arm bushings. So I decided to do the following maintenance:
-LCA bushings
-lower ball joints
-reboot kit on one of my ripped boots and boot slide “mod”
I’m really hoping this will be the end of the squeaks. Of course I couldn’t just do all this maintenance without a few cosmetic changes. I did a version of the satoshi grill with some amber LEDs(might add the Toyota emblem eventually). And bought some LED tail lights from Burtman.
