What flares are these?

I saw what looks to be a '99 4Runner with flares that I have not seen before. They look a lot like the Limited flares, except there is no body cladding on the truck. And the rear flares do not have the extended mud flaps. These are on the all-white truck below, the one with silver cladding is mine.

I'd like to recreate this look on my Limited, but I'd need to find these rear flares.

Any ideas if they are OEM or aftermarket?

I was gonna say they are the "Sport" flares, like the ones I have on my SR5, but the absence of the rear mud flap extension confuses me.

The sport flares are very similar to the limited ones at first glance, but they lack the door cladding and have a different profile at the back of the front wheel wells.

Here's my 02 SR5 with the sport flares:

I think some salvage yard OEM would have been way cheaper. Wow $385+ on Amazon

You could replicate that pretty easy with a dremel and a wizzer wheel.

Haha, indeed, I always look for ideas to upgrade/mod my truck and to spend more money on it . I'm currently in the "I need to do something with the peeling cladding paint" phase, so I'm checking out all options, and this one definitely looked unique.

Yup, you guys are right, that's definitely them! I don't need a whole set (nor would I spend that kind of money), and I'm not sure the rear bumper flares (assuming I could get them separately) would match the shape of my Limited flares, so...

...this seems like a good potential option. I studied the shape of the rear flares/mudflaps, and I can obviously cut off the lower portion to shorten the flare. My only concern is that that would leave an open edge at the bottom, which might look a little homemade? The factory flares have a small return portion on all edges, but I don't think I have the skills to replicate that. Working with plastics is not my forte .

I know for a fact that you can trim the bottom black portion off with no ill affect. Not sure how much higher you could go, but you could start there and find out if you wished.

The black bottom part is not what bothers me, it's the painted portion that overlaps the rear bumper and hangs below it. I think that in silver, it sort of blends with the chrome bumper, but if I paint the cladding/flares white, I wonder if it'll look silly against the chrome, like a sliver of white.

But I think it looks good in red on rightyouareken's truck, so maybe I'm overthinking it.

SR5 flares. The 96,97 and 98 got skinny black flares for sr5 and 99 and up got those flares on sr5.

What is the difference between https://www.amazon.com/Bushwacker-31.../dp/B000COC9OO
And https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000C..._t2_B000COC9OO

Can you use the Bushwacker 31907-11 on a 99 4runner or do they only fit the older ones? I have aftermarket bumpers and don’t need the extra little flare for them

I agree that the later model SR5's had the wider flares, but I believe they still had the extended rear flares with the mudflaps, like shown in the second post. The ones I'm asking about don't have that, and they do indeed look like Bushwacker flares.
