You could also pressurize the system with propane. Some people actually use propane as a refrigerant, it's not as efficient, but it works. I've actually used it to find the leak in my AC system... R134 is also flammable so don't be concerned about turning your 4Runner into a pipe bomb :-P

That’s what I ended up doing this evening when it wasn’t so hot. Got it charged up with a can from advance and now it’s blowing cold. Still not as cold as I think it should be, but whatever. When it’s convenient I’ll have Toyota recharge it so I know it’s done right.
The gauge on the aerosol can was very slowly decreasing after I charged it up...
Drier sight glass was solid white.
