lol you could probably drive as is without doing anything and it'd be fine. Mine was cracked once for god knows how long before I noticed it..

Yeah, and of course AC ducts have the same pressure difference as the intake hose! (Actually, I don't know the intake pressure differential, but I do know that AC manufacturers say that "duct tape" is actually NOT to be used on ducts. The tape they use now is apparently much better at lasting for years/decades and maintaining an airtight seal.)
I just wanted to be sure that something that seemed safe wasn't actually going to cause major damage (i.e. tape fragment (or sticky residue) gets sucked in and destroys major engine components))
