Airbag light flashing

Tried a search, and cant really find a resolution, so posting here:

2000 SR5 4x4
Auto 3.4

Airbag light randomly started flashing (red) about 2 weeks ago and hasnt stopped since. It's a constant flash on/off. Only when vehicle is cranked.

Any ideas? I've read about the clock spring causing this on Tacoma forums, but cant really find anything 3rd Gen 4Runner-specific

Thanks in advance!

Checked the connections? Sometimes things under drive seat push them around enough to get loose.

I’d say grab a spare abs computer from a junkyard and see if it helps

This.

The flashing just means an error, pull the codes (you ground two pins from the DTC plug under the hood) and get the code, then follow the procedure to trouble shoot.

Its a stand alone system.

I just went through this and ordered me a new airbag module. MAKE SURE ITS THE SAME PART NUMBER
