All-Pro offroad CV Boot issues

Installed new OEM cv axles along with a set of all-pro offroad cv extended boots. I reused the original oem rubber ring that I could of like your suppose to. Ive done this before on my old cv axles and had no issues. However, Im not sure what the deal is. But if I line up the all-pro boot wit the oem ring, apply the clamp, the all pro boot wants to automatically slide completely of the oem rubber ring! If I stretch the all pro boot completely over the oem ring and tighten it down. It doesn't fully compress it in the low grove spots. Now either my clamp is large in width, or this is just plain stupid! MY buddy suggested to silicone the cut out portion of the oem boot to the all pro off road then try to clamp it as one. And maybe I should use a smaller width clamp?
