I want to order one of these new custom UG mounts but it looks like the UG doesn't come with the plastic holder shown in the picture. What can be done?

That's odd, the Amazon listing seems to include only the velcro mount.

If you buy the Ultragauge directly from Ultragauge, it will come with the bracket (I bought directly from them, and it came with the bracket). And it's cheaper than the Amazon price:

UltraGauge, OBD II Scan Tool & Information Center

Found a place that has the mounts. I see there's a choice of different UG's. The EM Plus or the MX. I see the MX can read transmission temp. Does anyone here know if the MX is compatible with an 01 T4R and can read the trans temp or is the EM Plus the better choice?

You were answering as I found that site too. I'm still not sure on which UG to get though.

The MX can read trans temps in the '99+ models, though it does take some programming to achieve that (it's posted somewhere on this forum).

The EM can't read trans temps. Seems like for $10 more, the MX is the better choice for your truck.

Thank you! Will order the MX and your new mount.

PS: Love the hood struts and so did my mechanic when he swapped out the engine without having to remove the hood.

That's hysterical, I never thought about that, but I can see that being the case!

Sorry to keep bothering you but on the order page for the UG MX 1.4v it doesn't list the T4R as one of the vehicles. Does this matter?

I'm not sure as I have the EM, but it looks like you can just get the MX, no need for the beta version MX 1.4 since it doesn't add anything for the 4Runner:

UltraGauge MX [UltraGauge_MX_1.3] - $89.95 : UltraGauge, OBD II Scan Tool & Information Center

Thanks again. Decided to go with the safer choice; the EM 1.2 version.
