2000 Sport - rear spring and shock recommendations

Just picked up a 2000 SR5 Sport over the weekend... great truck in very good condition... the only thing I notice that needs attention is to replace the rear shocks and coil springs... what should I consider... I want to keep it close to stock height. The rear feels just a little too soft and bouncy especially compared to my '98.

Thanks in advance.

Also looking for a set of 4 alloy wheels to replace the badly pitted ones that it came with. If anyone in the Buffalo /WNY area has a set to sell let me know!

The KYB gas-a-just or Monomax are cheap, solid shocks for stock height and ride. Lots of guys use OEM '99 tall springs and tokico black shocks, but they are a little pricier.

Check out this thread...

3rdgen replace rear OEM coils & shocks BUT

There's some good info in the stickied threads of this section, dig into that sum.

My research would lead me to suggest 99 talls if you wanna keep OEM ride. It will slightly lift your rear too. OME 906s if you want a bit stiffer ride and 2" lift.

Shocks: Tokios or KYB. Bilsteins 5100s are my recommendation, but I would do all 4 together and not just the rear.
