I love the camper trailer, and the 4Runner looks great! How heavy is the trailer, and how well does it do pulling the trailer in the mountains? I'm thinking of building out a trailer and thinking through various options that will impact weight. I'm trying to get a sense as to what a comfortable upper limit is that the 4Runner can still pull well in the mountains.

It weighs 750lb empty maybe 850lb fully loaded. It is a 5x9 trailer base home build trailer. Based on big woody if you want a good starting point.

I can't tell its towing when I'm towing Joy (the trailer is named Joy). Mountains have not been a problem. The better brakes should help with down hills.

To be fair Joy was towed originally by a Hyundai Sonata. It is very light.
