I have no pictures but it is easy enough to investigate on your own truck. take the door sill plastic off and the kick panel off too. each door's wiring is behind the kick panel and has plugs. there are two for each front door. Drivers side has a white and a blue plug. the passenger door has a white and a black plug. the rears have one plug each in the b pilar. The front door sensors are in the b-pillara. and are easy to disconnect too. Its a small plug with a single red wire to it about half way up the b pillar. It take me about 5 minutes to take my front two doors off and put my tube doors on.
As for the quick disconnects. I use 5/16 bolts and drilled a hole for a small cotter pin. to remover you door pins first unbolt the door from the hinge. then cut the OEM pin in half. Next use a c- clamp and press each half out. this can be kind of tricky. Use the c-clamp to prevent the hinge from bending. There are a few write ups on this. google 3rd gen 4runner door removal. There is a good one on yotatech.
I made front and rear tube doors. I only use the fronts. Im worried about twisting the body with all the doors off and no cage yet. It sure is fun to drive the trails with tube doors, but i find myself using the regular doors more often. My build thread has some pics. its an easy project. Hope this helps

check the laws in your state about having mirrors.. "the man" got me the other day, no tickets but it was still a pain.. One more thing to add- round off the bottom of the replacement pins. They'll fit without doing it, but it will be a lot easier to get them back out.

Last i checked im fairly sure federal law states you need 2 rearward facing mirrors and one of those has to be on the driver side, so you would just grab any mirror even a cheapo stickon from the auto parts store and you can legally get away with it, to the best of my knowledge. I would further look into this as its been a while for me. And also, summer is almost over, why are you looking into this now?

going to be messing with my new PU and wanting half doors for it and i thought why not on both trucks? and man its still +105* everyday here, we broke a stake record for like 65 +100* in a row and going to break most off all summer. its still super summer here and i want the funny looks kinda, im just experimenting with a bunch of stuff now because the only thing im doing otherwise is armor and maybe exo but that is a ways off.

Newbie 3rd gen owner here–sorry about reviving and old post. I'm also interested in this as well as I'm trying to find a guide on how to remove and replace the passenger side door. I'm trying to replace my 98' passenger front door with a 99' that I found at the scrap yard.
Any guidance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
