there is going to be differences for sure, the FSM I have is for 1996-2002 and it has lacks descriptions of all kinds of differences that the early trucks had, different driveshaft lengths between limited and SR5/base, different trans pans between emissions types, different body mounts, different power steering pumps and lines between older trucks and newer... totally different braking systems between older and newer.

in general I think it seems pretty accurate. not sure your going to find a free pdf FSM for exactly the trans your working with?
After doing my own additional research and watching tear down videos there are a couple different versions of this trans but they're small differences such as a difference in a valve body etc. But the jeep model trans in comparison with the Toyota v6 model trans is nearly, if not completely identical. The differences in this trans were when they were mated with v8 engines which tore them up pretty bad and Toyota went to a different trans for the 8 cylinder engines equipped on Lexus and Toyota trucks / cars.

I've watched a few videos recently and it was interesting to learn that A340E variation to this particular transmission was used in the Supra's. Maybe that was common knowledge around here, but I had no idea.

look at the wiki... not sure how much to trust it but... it lists all kinds of stuff this trans was in

Toyota A transmission - Wikipedia

the one thing I found very interesting was

"OEM with 2JZ-GTE twin turbocharged engines only. This is the twin turbo only heavy duty version with some internal mods. The main case is similar to the common A340E but not interchangeable, the bell housing has "J3" cast into the upper surface, and is larger diameter to accept the larger torque converter and special flex plate. Maximum power using the stock internals should be limited to 500 (significantly higher than the standard A340E used with the 2JZ-GE normally aspirated engine)."
