DOES NOT seem like “snakeoil”…

I did a drain and fill on my auto transmission (original A340F with 321K+ miles on it).

At the time, I added Lucas “trans fix”. I have to say, I thought it was snake oil but noticed an improvement in shifting points and smoothness. (I am positive I am going to get a ton of grief about this through this forum but what the hell….with 321K+ miles, any little bit of extra life I can get from the tranny – I am all for it.)

I have always run Mobil1 Synthetic transmission fluid with an external cooler bypassing the radiator. The fluid came our bright red with no burned look, foul smell or discoloration…..also run a magnefine inline filter on the tranny system…..

Anyone else had this positive experience with the Lucas TransFix “snake oil?”

Not all additives are snake oil. I use LubeGard red in my vehicle with an auto (not a 4Runner). I suspect it’s a similar friction modifier.

tons of vids out there where people have tested fuel Additive and dyno'ed the results showing they did pickup a wee bit of horse? some stuff works.

I ditched the mobile 1 atf last year and have been running just old school Valvoline DEXRON/MERCON Automatic Transmission Fluid. trans runs way better and smoother in my subjective opinion.

I purchased a 5gal off amazon. I can admit I have a problem because I'm buying 5 gallon buckets of ATF off the internet. in my defense I have done a couple of trans swaps so... it adds up fast and ATF is not cheap no mo.

I will grab some Lucas “trans fix” and give it try. BamaDrewski does have some street cred on the T4R site you know.

I have used Locus trans fix for years. When I exchange the fluid out of my transmissions, I put in a bottle. I also use Locus heavy duty oil stabilizer on every oil change on my rigs. I have had excellent results..

Actually my one 98 has a bad rear diff housing. So I have it full of Locus Heavy Duty oil stabilizer until I change the rear end out as the original owner let it go low a few times and did damage to the diff. Its still turning..:-)

There is additive that is supposedly even better then Locus. My one buddy owns a mom and pop garage and swears by Trans X. ( I am verifying this is the correct one as going from memory)

I should come down and put an Alabama whoopin on ya for not trying the Liqui Moly ATF additive.

In all serious though it may do just fine. +2 with the others on using Lubegard products.

I really am waiting for you to go all in and start using Amsoil products, even possibly becoming a dealer.
