It’s just a little tiny cap to call it a boxed frame. The Tacos never had the fully boxed frame. I do want a plasma cutter but I need to get real electric in my garage.

Correct the 3rd gen frames are similar to the 80s frames..

Well my alternator dosent like the cold. However, when I pulled it I had it rebuilt locally in 2016 at a local repair shop. It lasted 50k mile. So I am guessing that they only replaced only the parts that failed at this time. I put my spare engine one on that had 165k on it.

Unless you get the brush assembly from Toyota it will be a soft cheep aftermarket set of brushes. The SR5 I bought as my project had a reman CarQuest Alt in it. I have no clue how many miles were on it but when the diode block took a crap on my Ex’s Limited Puppy Hauler I installed it along with the new battery it had. Two years later the Alt stopped charging.

I pulled out the brushes and they were little nubbies just over 1/16” long. So I put Toyota brushes in.

Yes I am probably going to pull this one apart and see what needs replaced. I am guessing the brushes were cheap as heck and not sure about a few other parts.

Life is returning back to normal for us.. My mother and father in law have now sinced passed on. So I have some more time to work on my hobby rides. Kinda waiting for a little warmer temps as last night was 9 degrees F and my cement floor isn't heated so I been staying away from my welding project. I do have the driver side rail close to 50% completed. :-)

Hopped in old Tetanus 1 this am as she sat in the winter parking area since Friday evening and when I pulled her out the brakes were slightly frozen. Not real uncommon if moisture was around the brakes when it was parked last.

Sorry to hear of family members passing, always difficult to deal with loss.
Spending time on hobbies is a good thing to help, as they say time helps heal.

My heart goes out to your wife and your family.
It is hard when someone that's a part of your life and communicate with passes on. Kinda puts a void in there.
Good thing you got your hobbies to pass the time away. Hoping your wife has such hobbies of her own, or something that can be a distraction of what happened.
Condolences to you and your family.

Thanks fellows we lost gram last palm sunday and pappy past jan 26 as he had a battle with dementia. We took care of them both as long as we good. Sadly pappy got so bad we couldn't sleep so last octor we had to place him in a home. So now it's just me the wife and our 6 year old daughter at the house here. They basically both died of natural causes.

Tetanus 1 got a voltmeter..;). I will compare this voltage to post voltage. I suspect it to be extremely close.

Caring for parent with dementia is so difficult and becoming more common these days. I’ve got my 89 y/o mom with me as she’s got dementia as well.
Hate the idea of having her anywhere else then with me but I know it will have to happen one day.
We do our best!

Yes. We did well until Pap wouldn't sleep. He started tearing the house apart. Then keep slowly get worse. Its extremely difficult and hard to deal with. My heart goes out to anyone dealing with it. As we lived with it for 2 years. [ I knew he had issues for 10 years ] Our hope was he could have stayed here until he passed. He almost made it just 5 months. We just enjoyed the time we had with him and took care of him as best as we could.
