In non rust areas yes that perfect. In Rust belt areas... not enough. :-(

Its the oxygen that gets to the steel that's the issue. I can show you steel that was painted when new painted correctly etc and still rots out around here without any salt / winter help. Its part environment too as we have major fluctuations that cause the steel to expand and contract rapidly thus acceleration of rust. Its just something we have to deal with and why you will not see a pile of 15 -20 year old vehicles on the road as they don't survive the rot in these areas. :-(

I'm getting my underbody professionally detailed and having them put POR15 everywhere first, then spray a shit ton of Fluid Film.

I don't wanna have to do it again, at least for inside the frame, so I'd like to seal up the frame holes.

Does anyone know how many darn holes are there???

Also if the holes are plugged, is there really no other way water/moisture can get inside?
How did these grommets/plugs work out for you? I am shopping around and still wondering whether 1/2" or 5/8" is better. Also found these.

In Georgia, absolutely. I'm in NC and just stick with a little WD40 sprayed inside the frame holes occasionally and an awesome coat of paint on the outside. No rust at all here

They make this frame coating in a can with a special nozzle on a tube. You can feed it into the frame rails and spray all over!

Found it, it's made by Eastwood. I used it a while back to fix some rust spots on the inside of that tube on the back of the frame. The one that holds the rear spring seats.

I use 1/2 inch grommets in the holes I drill for rust inhibiting solutions

Haven't bought it but will now and let y'all know. I'm getting mine rustproofed with POR15 then Fluid film the week of October 21st. I'll ask them to take some nice pics before they take it down from the hoist.

Maybe people had better luck with Eastwood products then I did. Still rusted underneath it. However, we are talking northeast salt belt area for my rigs. So rust is extremely heavy and extremely scaly.

Anyone plug up those large rectangular-ish holes on the frame? Probably the main source for dirt building up in the frame. FZJ80s have plugs in them from factory. Maybe those plugs work.

I wonder if that would trap stuff? I was thinking about jamming a leaf blower into one of the frame openings in the back with the rear bumper removed. Thought it may be good to blow any dirt out before applying anything

Or use a garden hose poked up the back. I do mine 1-2 times a year. A huge amount of dirt builds up right where the rear lower control arm bracket attaches in the curve there. No coincidence this is where they rust out either.

Life in the northeast, the battle against rust continues........placed an order for this Pro Kit yesterday.
After lots of research decided to give Woolmax a try. Also picked up a gallon of Fluid Film but will try out the Woolmax this season.
After speaking with people who have used both they switched to the Woolmax as a bit thicker so less overspray and they thought it held up through the winter a bit better than FF.
Both seem like great products and I suspect either will help keep the rust at bay.
If anyone thinking to buy this stuff skip Amazon and go directly to Kellsport Products website as priced lower and great service.

Yes. I do I remove all the holes in the frames as a repair them. I do it by welding in internal steel plates and weld the holes shut. It's the source of the internal frame rot.

Excellent thought on plugs. I never found ones that work. Rubber or silicone ones would be the best or something oil resistant.

I am surprised the aftermarket or someone hasn't made plugs for our frames.

I am curious how wool wax holds up. I am experimenting with corroseal.

Randon idea here, anyone else ever refreshed a mosin nagant before? Remember that fat thick ass grease they were coated in?

Cosmoline.

So...what if you cleaned out the frame rails, applied a new coating, and the just literally pumped them full of cosmoline? That shit is so thick it last for decades. It kept my mosin rust free for 70+ years so I'm sure it would work for our trucks
