Yes, That is my next move if my FF and Corroseal do not work. I was only staying away from Cosmoline because of its costs and I didn't feel like pumping a frame full of it.


My plating via inside and sealing the frame rail holes are making significant improvements.

The reason of FF inside is that it can flow and will even wick vertically. Cosmoline will not do this as its too heavy and think.

Another excellent coating would be liquid bees wax as well. :-)

I personally don't want to use anything too thick and heavy inside the frame. Anything thick and sticky will collect and hold dirt in there. I know Brillo you are plugging the holes so maybe in your case it would work.

I have had good luck with a lighter spray (FF or wd40) inside the frame along with seasonally blasting the frame internals out with a garden hose. Keeps it nice and clean in there and nothing to trap moisture.

I think the cleaning is the most important part of the plan. I'm pretty sure most people don't appreciate the amount of dirt that builds up in the frame. Once the bottom drain holes plug, the dirt just keeps building up.

Yeah but I'm talking about some seriously thick ass grease, this stuff is nuts. Just fill the frame rails so it's nigh impossible for crap to get in there to start. And even if it does, cosmoline inhibits rust I believe.

@jross20 theory does sound decent. Cosomoline is a rust inhibitor and extremely thick. Would stay in the frame rails. Would you have to plug the frame holes? Probably.

I am still experimenting yet. So far in sealed frames. FF seems to work extremely well. Alot better then the Eastwood products. Alot better then standard paint.

I do know sealing out the frame holes is a major step to saving the inside big time.

Keeping the frame cleaned out of dirt abs and debris is excellent as well.

I know more after a few more years. As I have endoscope and can look into areas that I have done.

Its interesting what they look like inside. The South should be slight if any surface rust. Rust belt areas are a completely different story as you see from us that live in those areas. My arch photo on this thread shows what happens if the owners just drive them and do nothing.

Alright so the camera was a bit old and I couldn't see shit inside....
But I from just looking with a flash light, it looks black inside. Don't see any rust.

Get your finger inside the square holes and feel the condition of the bottom, especially near the rear lower control arm mount. That'll be the place to find it if you have it.

@jross20 . Just curious what's on that frame? Just paint or some rubberized undercoating. I can see areas where the surface painted surface changes and was just wondering.

Oh this was after cleaning with acetone and then 2-3 coats of chassis paint. Before it was just an ugly black-gray. Only tiny tiny spots here and there with surface rust.

It's semi gloss chassis paint from summit racing. Their own brand. So far whatever I've painted with it has stayed nice and black. There is some strange stuff on the frame already, I wasn't sure what it was.

The plugs I bought from ebay didn't work. It was so tight I couldn't plug the circle holes lol.

Anyways here's some after pics I took after driving it home after the motorcity auto spa place did a wonderful job detailing my car full interior and exterior, I provided them a gallon of fluid film, angle grinder with wire brush cups, fluid film gallon kit.

They did the underbody detail and painted it POR15, then sprayed it all with fluid film after. Ready for the winter!!!
They are supposed to text me after pics while it was up in the hoist so I'll post better ones once I receive them.
