Did your OME 891's sag?

Searching through the forums I have read a decent number of replies saying they had 891's and they sagged, but nothing else explaining their experience.

How long did it take for this to happen? How much weight were you running? Anything else that you think may have contributed to your bad experience?

I am wanting to get roughly 3" of lift and these are the coils I have in mind. Have those of you who use or switched to the toytec superflex coils had the same issues? I believe these give a bit more than 3" of lift, but that would be fine with me if they are better coils in the long run. Or if there are any other 3" coils that are built to carry some extra weight (bumper, spare, 100ish pounds of gear and 2 kids) that you reccomend?

Mine settled slightly once I broke my 891's in. Brand new I got around 4 inches. Now it's a little over 3 inches. I mainly bought them for the bumper and swing down tire carrier weight. With nothing loaded in the trunk, the height is perfect with a nice rake.

When I load up for hunting or camping, they do sag. More than I like. The ride is perfect for me, but that is all personal preference. I did install airbags to help with the sag weight since.

1st picture is a loaded trunk with bumper and tire carrier.

2nd picture is with nothing in the trunk. I'm parked on a slight incline, so it may look a bit off, but should be able to tell the difference in both.

I've run both OME 861's, and the Superflex. The 861's started to sag after 4 months of carrying 150lbs in the rear. The Superflex never held the weight they claimed to, and sagged right out of the box.

If you're going to be carrying weight I would suggest running OME 891's, and never look back. I've had these in for a little over 2 years, and love them. I probably have an extra 400-450lbs in the rear, and these haven't begun to sag yet.

I'm confused. You said your 891's sagged at 4 months, then you said 891's for 2 years and are holding strong?

That is a great stance! Was the loaded picture with airbags filled? And how long did it take for them to settle?

In the loaded picture, I did not have the airbags in. It was after that exact hunting trip I decided to install the bags.

I would say they settled in after a few months. I drive the rig only twice a week when not hunting.

I've had a bit of an off day today. Disregard the 861 stuff. The OME 891's hold a lot of weight, and is often recommended if you're carrying a rear bumper with tire carrier. The springs are stiff, and need to be paired with a stuff shock like the Tokico Black Shocks.

I thought it was the other way around? I thought I read somewhere that 861's hold up better to more weight since they're taller than 891's?

861 vs 891 vs Superflex Coils for rear weight

ome 861s 6" lift?

The 861’s give 6” or lift? Dang that’s way too high for me. Sounding like 891 with air bags may be the best choice for me.

I have 891’s and really don’t think I got much lift out of them. I also felt like with my 906’s didn’t give as much lift as I expected (which is why I switched to 891).

Maybe my body mounts are compressed and caused me to lose some height there.

I installed firestone airbags and am running them at about 15 PSI in this pic with about 150 lbs of weight in the back

One note - I could BARELY fit the Firestone airbags into my 891 coils. Anyone else have this issue?

That's 6 inches without any cargo weight or armor

Are you running 15ish PSI at all times or just under load? I think I read somewhere that to keep them from breaking or leaking you should always have air in them?
