I bought a set of those and painted them with duplicolor wheel paint. They turned out pretty nice. I sold them so I'm not sure how well the paint stands the test of the time. The 2 in your picture look pretty good. Personally I would just run them as is. I would think the factory finish would be more durable.
Haha, thanks for the replies guys. I was thinking about a bronze finish... Maybe to match the 4runner's trim. Like a tan? But...
I really don't want to f-up the wheels...
Any tire recommendations? I'm trying not to kill my first economy..
I'm not sure if it's factory, but my wife's 05 Sequoia has these wheels and they are a shiny silver metallic (not chrome). Seems to have a bit more of a shine than yours do. Kinda understated but in a good way. Picture from Craigslist when we bought it:
Got a set of 4 for $185. A couple of nicks here and there.
Should I paint them or anything? I'm a bit worried about messing them up haha
Trying to get the photo show up...
I have the exact same wheels but mine are painted black. I would be a little upset if they were going on the 4runner but with the color scheme I have in mind for my 80 I am okay with them being black.
They're fine as is! I think they'll look sharp on a Runner, just as they are. OEM is the best look. Luck and enjoy the Runner!

It is. I have a set of Tacoma TRD wheels on that I stripped the paint off and repainted with supposedly high quality paints. 3 years later and they are starting to chip pretty bad. That was after using self-etching primer, clear coat with cyanides and all that. So I either get to paint them again or get different wheels once the paint falls off.
The gun metal or graphite colors do look really nice though. I might power coat my next wheels graphite so it's more permanent.
I had a pair of those and regretted selling them. I believe they came in both a lighter and darker silver option. One tip is to use a light glue or silicone on the center caps because they will pop out (I lost a couple of them in the few months that I was running those wheels).
Bronze would look great on those but the stock color does look good too. I usually only like black or bronze wheels but those are one of the few pairs I like in silver.

Can confirm. WAY more work than it's worth.
