4Runner emblems

Hey guys, my 4Runner doesn’t have any emblems on the tailgate. Previous owner took them all off. I only have the the Toyota emblem in the middle. Does anyone know an easy way to place the emblems factory spec?

emblems

what year is your 4runner. I have a set of emblems, but always wondered how to properly attach them..the original sticky stuff wouldn't be dependable.

3M double sided tape. I've used it on an emblem and it worked perfectly.
You have to cut it to fit the contour of the emblem. An exact knife and patience are key.

Also, if you need a 4Runner emblem, let me know. Think I have one sitting around.

Oh no guys I meant is there an easy way to place the emblems on the truck like it came out the factory. I’m pretty sure I just have to look at a picture of a 3rd gen and guess? Looking to see if there’s a more accurate way though. But thanks for the replies and offers!

Also it’s an 01

Ah, I follow you now! I would provide you with measurements but my tail gate was repainted and the emblems are slightly off from where they should be. However, I do have a pic of mine next to its twin, and I believe that the emblems on that truck are in the factory location. Also, the dealership decal is a good indicator it's original back there. You can tell the 4Runner emblem on mine is slightly elevated compared to the other truck's. Also the 4WD emblem on mine should be lower. After I noticed this, it has bothered me. Wish that truck never parked next to me, haha.

On the list of things to do is to reset the emblems to factory location. I just need to find the exact measurements on where they go. I might scope out a 4Runner in the parking lot and bust out my ruler if I get desperate enough. Hopefully I don't get arrested.

Here's that pic (mine is on the right):

Haha I’m pretty ocd with this stuff also and these emblems aren’t cheap! Wish I knew someone else that owns a 3rd gen 4Runner so I can get measurements. I think I’m just not going to peel the back off the emblems and just put some tape on the back and look at pics until I get it right. Thanks for the pictures tho!

I took these when I removed my emblems just in case I put them back later, hopefully this will help someone.

Quick question the vertical measurements on the sr5 and 4wd pictures cuts off at the top. Is that exactly where it ends?

That's where the photos end, I was using the contour line in the rear door as a reference point if that makes sense.

Killer Squirrel... You are a stand up guy. That's so cool of you to post those pics to help out. As soon as I saw the OP's question lazy me thought, "Go find a 4runner at a Wal-Mart and measure it." Then you go to the effort of posting those pics. Way to go man

Hey I was curious if anyone could shed some light onto why my 4runner doesn’t have a 4wd emblem. 1998 just got it, it has the sr5 and the 4runner emblems but not the 4wd one. Was it taken off? Or did it not come with it??

Yeah the 96-98 doesn’t have one, you would only have one if you owned a 99-02 model. Also the emblem placements are different.
