Someone just stole my 4runner
My forever truck is gone!
At 10:30 this morning a Hispanic lady walk up my driveway jumped in my truck, started it and backed out. She took off down the street and it was gone. I called the police, but who knows how hard they are looking.
My brother and I have been cruising around town since then driving up and down streets and alleys.
I was installing a new android head unit and had the keys in the ignition with the radio playing. i had just stepped into the house talking to my brother, I was only about 20 seconds and 20 feet away. before I could turn around and run 15 feet she was backing out and gone.
1997 SR5, V6, 4x4, auto, black, brand new K02s. less than a 1000 miles. Dent on the right rear tailgate. brand new battery, just installed it this morning.
I'm in Port Hueneme CA. Ventura County. licence plate 3WHP480
If any of you that are local, keep your eyes open.

Sorry to hear that.
My sister had her SUV stolen out of her driveway.
The person who stole it, just took everything and sold it all(car seats, toys, basically anything that wasn't bolted down). They found it abandoned in a parking lot like 3 weeks later. Hopefully you get it back sooner than later.

It was an Eonon android head unit, ccomplely installed. Just finished hooking up the dash cam. the camera wasn't on.
It was a interstate battery from costco.
Ya, I did the brakes earlier this month.

Thanks for all the reply's and eyes.
the vin is JT3HN86R0V0124631
I hope I get it back soon. About 3 months ago someone broke in and stole all my tools, and my 1964 folding army shovel and anything else that wasn't bolted in. I spent about $500.00 replacing all the basics and my back up folding army shovel. I don't have another folding shovel.

No tracker. Now I have to go buy another vehicle tomorrow. I don't know weather to buy a cheap piece to get me by, or just buy a good second car. My current second is a 1977 ford 4x4 van that didn't pass smog. And it has so many problems that I don't want to dump anymore in to it.

Sorry
I am sorry for the loss. Hope you will get it soon. Did you have the park brake applied. Women cannot release it. Any cameras around recorded her? If you had a starter kill switch, I can see how you going to treat her.

Parking brake was on. She drove it like a champ. She had to turn hard right to miss the front block wall and clear the end of my van. I was hoping the block wall was going to stop her. Don't know what I would have done, the window was up most of the way and the doors lock when you start it.
Thieves suck.

I hope something extremely unpleasant happens to that person.
In the meantime, I will keep aware of your vehicle's description over the next days and weeks here in Santa Monica. Any black '97 with new KO2's that I see will get scrutiny.
Note to self: Never walk away from the car with keys in it....even if it's in my own driveway.

Awe man, that really sucks! Man, too bad you didn't leave your smart phone under the seat, you could've track that.
The way things are going with our laws, even if they caught the suspect...basically nothing would've happen in any form of justice or punishment.

Sorry dude, but if she is caught nothing will happen to her. Port Hueneme and Oxnard have majority illegal alien populations now. DIVERSITY IS OUR STRENGTH!
