I cant believe you had to block your radiator to get your temp up just a few degrees.

My Temperatures, Are running very close to yours. Being we are in the same state with almost identical weather { about 4 hours apart} this will make sense and also proves that the temp sensors are accurate without having to go find a temperate gun.

My average is about 188 degrees F. :-) I am blocking nothing and my radiator is probably about 6 to 8 years old. ;-)

It’s a rebuilt engine with a new Denso radiator.
My 96 with 220k miles had the jigger valve at 12 o clock instead of 6 and had the same temps.

If the temperature are the same in either 6 or 12 o'clockwith the jigger valve. I am wondering why we have about 5 to 10 threads stating it makes a huge difference. Granted the proper position is 6 o clock as the FSM.

Maybe that one has to do with an environment issue. Hotter climates it makes a difference on were as cooler ones it's not as critical.

I increased the memory location from 05 to 06. I’ll say it has promise. It was toggling between 14.3 and 14.5 at 160f and at the house it was toggling between 14.7 and 15.2. I’m I’m going to do more testing but this may be the actual used by the ECU to determine fuel trims.

More testing to continue. And that will probably involve unplugging the front sensor

I think this is real time AF ratio from the pre-cat sensor.

In open loop it reads 14.6.

Target Air Fuel Ratio for ScanGauge in my 97.

Bump to the top.

Remember to change the 5 to a 6 in the first two parameters.

And it’s slow to respond like Patty mentions but everytime it goes open loop it reads 14.6.

I should repost the corrected memory location. It is interesting how much I had to block off the rad to get the temp above 191 though.
