Yup these injectors can be very noisy. I just turn up the tunes...

As long as they are functioning properly. I dont mess with the injectors on my rigs. Now if one leaks or failing that's a completely different scenario.

Seems too good to be true. If so I'll send them back. Just might be real!
I paid about triple on eBay for a set of 'new OEM' injectors, and they were well-made fakes. Hard to tell by looking even closely.

One sign of trouble in the ad? Denso doesn't make the original injectors, they are made by Aisan.

I went ahead and installed them on mine, and it ran OK once started, certainly better than running on 5 cylinders. But it was hard to start. Cold or hot, it would take a long while cranking to fire. Something like 5 - 10 seconds of cranking.

I sent them back and got a set of injectors from a junkyard 4Runner. And the idle was smoother, and it starts within a second like it should.

There's nothing magical about eBay suppliers. They can't find actual genuine brand new OEM Toyota injectors for $67 for a set of 6. Those are fake. And you might get lucky and they might work OK for a while. Or not. Either way, they're cheap chinese knockoffs. That look correct even up close.

Bingo! You remember correctly sir!

@The Cold War Kid If the only thing "wrong" with your injectors is you think they are noisy then they don't need replaced. Any misfires or leaks? No? Then leave them alone

Actually I returned only the rear o2 sensor and it may have been the real thing. It looked like it was... Returned it 'cause somebody bought it off Amazon and drop-shipped it to me. Not cool.

There was some confusion on this.

I returned the front, too. I ordered the pair from rock auto. When they arrived I realized the front was the real McCoy. So I cancelled the return. Now I have a spare, I guess.

Nah - the motor sounds like junk. I'm no expert on 4runners - far from it - but I have seen and ridden in them. The motors don't sound like that!

There's no joy in having something that sounds like junk. Not for me.

Here's what I bought. Look like the real thing to me. Except that denso were advetised and asian supplied.

What do you think?

I have read that the bottoms (cream plastic part) of the fakers can pop off pretty easily compared to the stockers.

I'm also into watches.

Here is a page you may find interesting

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore - all prices for Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore watches on Chrono24

On a recent trip to the Philippines I bought 2 rolex and one of these watches back. They cost me around $65, each.

They are, in fact, fakes. There's no way an ordinary person can tell - even by taking the watch apart. I wondered how doing that - making fakes so good an expert is required to identify them - would be feasible, from a financial standpoint.

Late one night, in a chat box such as this, I happened upon a man who said he had been to some city in china where these fakes originate. He refused to tell me where it was, saying he was making money from having that knowledge. Said he, the real and fake watches are made in the very same place, by the very same people.

One might imagine there is not a lot of volume in the sales of $35,000 watches. An ego that big and pockets that deep don't happen that often - especially when wearing any Audemars watch is tantamount to risking your life! I don't wear my fake very often. I think of being shot in the back, to get it.

Think about this. Consider the expense of tooling up to make fake fuel injectors so good they can not be told from the real thing, then selling those in injectors for $10, each. Make sense, from a financial standpoint? Methinks not...

I think the injectors I bought came out the back door of the same factory that makes toyota parts.

Could be. Time will tell. I just don't have the time the same job 3 times.

I know on the old coins side of things, the counterfeit are worthless. So someone having a 6k coin they paid for only to find out its junk would be a major problem.

The chinese cost us billions of dollars in intellectual property alone. Let alone non genuine car parts.

However, people make the problem 10x worse by purchasing these things to save a dollar. If nobody bought the counterfeits they would quit making them.

The chinese should make their own brand that way people know what they are buying. :]

Harbor Freight did this and everyone knows its chinese goods. They didn't hide it etc. So the consumer knows what the goods are.

So... I'm a bad guy because I did not pay $1,000 or so for what I can get for $57; because I did not pay a whole corus line of geeks, waiting in the wings to rip me off? OK - I'm a bad guy. No argument. But I'm not a fool...

Let's try this: Given that toyota is paying the same amount the guy selling on ebay for $10 each is, toyota should not charge $188 each for these parts and, if they do, (!) them! Better me (!)ing them than them (!)ing me.

In my mind, "intellectual property rights" do not equate to a license to extort, and steal. How 'bout in yours?

It remains to be seen that your $57 injectors nears the quality of the $1000 injectors.

I like these fakes:

Who said anything about you being a bad guy? How do we know if you have good or counterfeit injectors.

I thought I was quite clear time will tell if they are good ones or not.

Enough of this already. We the other users of this forum know nothing it seems as Others have been burnt bad with counterfeit parts from ebay

You even got this awesome deal with O2 sensors that were junk before several threads ago so you know this and you know lots of times its russian roulette
On Ebay.

As long as your happy with them what does it matter.

Honestly, I don't care what type of injectors you put in your engine as I don't have to work on it. ;)

At this point, I am wishing you the best of luck.

I thank you for that. The o2 sensors were the real thing, I think.

It will be spring when I install those injectors. And yes, I will have to remove some parts, in order to do so. Still, in my mind, this is my best option.

I'm not sure, of anything - lol - even that I'll be alive in the spring to change them! Until then, have fun and chilllll, baby, chillll

If I were you, I wouldn't take a chance of having to redo all that labor when you find your Ebay injectors are junk like @brillo_76 mentioned. I'd get a set of refurbished ones from Motorwest Performance in Southern California. Everyone I know that has bought them through Motorwest has been happy. The link is in the video description. I met the owner Martin Diaz when I visited his shop and he's a good dude and stands behind the injectors he sells.
