Nitto trail grappler 285/75-16

Had these installed today and so for so good. Upgraded from Goodyear duratrac 265/75-16’s. These TG’s are less noisy but do seem to drift a bit at 70mph.

I have a toytec 3” lift only and slightly rub at full lock. It’s raining today so I have yet to investigate were it rubs but I will update soon. They are clearing the uca’s by about 1/2” sitting on the ground. Plan to stuff and drop the wheels soon to see if there is any rubbing there.

Are you running stock UCA and wheels? I want to bump up to this size tire and debating if I need spacers or anything.

Dang the 33's look so much better filling up the rear wheel well. I have some 265/75/16 wildpeaks that have 4K miles on them and will be putting a 3" rear lift next month. I have a real long time till I will have bigger tires like that, but something to look forward to. Also, the paint matched bumpers look killer! I have one in the same color and i'm trying to decide on matching paint or going black.

Thanks man. I have been through all sizes of tires and finally stepped up to the 285. Wish I would have done it as soon as I got the lift.

If I got to do the bumper again, I would have rhino lined them that color and not done paint. Off road they have gotten pretty scratched up. If she was a mall crawler though, paint would be good enough.

That's good to know! I don't go wheeling on a regular basis. I'm in the process of creating the ultimate hunting vehicle. During that time i'll take my 4runner anywhere and the brush and rocks I have to get through in eastern Oregon for antelope hunting would scratch them up real fast. Hoping to get a front bumper here in the next couple months after my sliders and lift are finally installed.

Bite the bullet and throw a winch in there when you get the bumper if you can’t install one with it already mounted. I’ve held out for 5 years on a winch cause I don’t want to pull that beast bumper off again. It’s mounted on there so tight.

had those exact 285s on my wife's Nissan until we traded it in. I absolutely loved them and will probably do the same when i buy tires for my 16s. they seemed to wear very slow and even as well

Looks great!

I'll be putting on the same wheels and have JBA UCAs so lets hope rubbing is very minimal

I saw your rig at the Turfland Chick Fil A a month or two ago, was wondering if you were on here. Looks great.

Well I think I am going to have more rubbing issues then i thought. At full lock right I rub the right side frame and left side UCA. Full lock left clears. At full drop I’m also into the uca’s

Now off roading is going to be even worse I believe. I need to figure out a way to stuff these front wheels and turn to check for clearance. From the looks if it I may rub the rear of both wheel wells.

What do you all think to remedy? Start with uca’s? I’d hate to spend that much on those and it yield no more clearance.
