Pronounced shift/mechanical sound going from 2nd to first

So I don't know if she's always done this, or if maybe it's just now started or if I'm just now noticed it, I don't know.

So when I'm coming to a stop, I can tell exactly when she goes from second into first, there's a very obvious little tiny bump and a mechanical sound, it's not super loud and it doesn't sound like anything's exploding... But that's the only time I can actually hear it.

Is this normal or should I look into it?

I have the same issue at times... First noticed it about 10 years ago and seems to only happen(for me) when it's cold out and the tranny is cold.

Ah, so you don't believe it is an issue? I presume your transmission has kept on trucking since then?

Does it happen to be fairly cold outside in your area at the moment??

Is your transmission cooler still in the radiator or did you bypass??

I am just wondering if it doing it when your transmission fluid is cold. ;)

At first I was worried about it but that was about 200k miles ago and I'm a hair shy of 350k miles total and it's still running. But like I said, mine only does it when it's cold.

One thing that did help was a complete flush and switch over to synthetic trans fluid.

Bypassed.

I'll try to make note of the temps today and see when she does it
