Thanks for that information where I also found it difficult to get the broken part off the plug. The 5/8-inch socket would never work until I got that piece off but it was six inches deep and stuck on the old plug. I had to use special hose grip pliers to finally get it off.

These were not the originals but they probably were a dozen years old with about 100K miles or more on them. How long do these plugs normally last anyways?
