Sounds like maybe your thermostat gasket is shot? Has it been replaced recently.

What does the skidpan have to do with the thermostat?

Meaning he removed the skid plate to see where the drip was coming from(so he could look up and or see where the drip come from since the skid blocks that and drips it somewhere else.

sounds like water pump.

How many miles on it? How many since you owned it? May be worth just going the full waterpump/timing belt(or at least removing the plastic cover and checking belt)

Could be the thermostat housing seal. Could be the oil cooler hose that attaches to the driver side of the water pump near the thermostat housing. Could be your lower radiator hose. Could be the water pump. You're just going to have to investigate.

Has absolutely nothing to do with your coolant choice.

If you end up pulling off the thermostat water neck, make sure you check to see what position the thermostat jiggle valve is in. The FSM specifies that it should be pointed downward at the 6 o'clock position. The position of the jiggle valve makes a pretty big difference. The difference between having the jiggle valve at the 12 o'clock position and the 6 o'clock position is around 10 degrees Fahrenheit. If you want you rig to run 10 degrees cooler, put your jiggle valve at the 6 o'clock position.

The truck has 155k on it. I dont know if the timing belt water pump have been changed... i purchased the truck from a small dealer, that had no back round info. i have had the truck about 3 yrs now, i have put approx 25k on it more or less. i wanna say im about to do the 5th oil change. Im gonna try the simple stuff first before the water pump/timing belt swap.

If you don't know the last time the water pump/timing belt was changed then you should really pull the top timing cover back and look at the timing belt. If the timing belt is cracking then it's probably the original and you should get the timing belt/water pump/timing belt tensioner/thermostat/thermostat gasket replaced. It wouldn't hurt to replace the radiator and radiator cap as well before you get a pink milkshake. Just my $0.02 on preventative maintenance.
