Persistent Cattywampusitis

I posted previously about the driver side Detroit lean that was driving me nuts. The lean was present prior to the frame weld issue. Frame weld went well. The lean persisted. Then I installed OME 891s (I built a drawer system in the back) and Nitros. Still she persisted. When installing the 891s I realized I broke the passenger upper control arm and bent the driver side one. I installed them this morning. It is a ton better now but still droops on the driver side. My friends have lovingly suggested it may be my girth. While I'm rocking the dad bod in my thirties TLC ain't running a show about me.

I'm looking at buying a spacer to put above the driver rear spring. Any thoughts or suggestions? The truck tracks perfectly, front end is perfect, rear end has a ton of new parts, and I'm about out of ideas. Does a full tank really make that big a difference even with 891s?

My Tetanus 1 driver side sags. Even with nobody in it sitting there it sags. I changed the springs and shocks it still leans I even have the coil plate were its supposed to. I wonder if they have a heavier spring on the driver side then the passenger side. As I dislike the lean too.

New symptom: If I drive it for just about any distance and park it's back up to level or just about. After being parked for a while it settles back into the lean. I'm mystified.

Wow mine just leans. I dont think it ever goes back to level. As I think mine is caused by A/M springs with one being weaker then the other.

You don't have a leaking shock ? Anything else in the rear suspension that can bleed down when sitting?

Mine was leaning the opposite direction, threw a OME 10mil spacer in and it leveled it Persistent Cattywampusitis

Supposedly Toyota did make left & right springs and coils, you'll see that the factory paint marks do show a left and right. When I took my stock suspension off though I compared them right next to each other and I did not see a lick of difference. Perhaps one just has a slightly different tension? Toyota did put the exhaust and other components on the passenger's side to compensate for the driver weight & steering wheel weight though.

Hardly compensating. I think they designed it for the right hand drive market first and decided to put the heavier stuff on the opposing side. After that was all done they remembered the NA market. And here we are today.

Very well could be. I know you have to watch with the A/M springs. I have seen the paint on the OEM springs and I believe they are different part numbers which explains how Toyota leveled them.

Looks like the solution for the OP would be to put a spacer in as a user did on theirs.

The OEM springs were def different heights when I removed them. The Old Man Emu were as well but less so. I put the taller one on the driver side.

I can't think of what else could bleed down after sitting other than the shock and it's a brand new OME Nitrocharger so I gotta believe it's something else. I just can't think of where to look.

Thank you all for the input and suggestions.

Springs carry the vehicle weight. Shocks dampen the spring movement. Your issue has nothing to do with your shocks. Try a 10mm trim packer on the driver rear spring.
