My 4R originally came with Goodyear Wranglers. That’s what I’ve used ever since.

While I value everyone's opinions, it seems that the only thing that ya'll agree on is that ya'll aren't going to agree on anything. That being said, I pulled the trigger and ordered a set of the Falken Wildpeak AT3W in 265/70r16 112T. They arrived today. $607 in total to include tax, that's a very reasonable price in my book. Getting ready to have wheels sandblasted and powder coated black before mounting new tires. I'll update everyone when I get them done.

I like my BFG KO2S. I've run 3 sets of these...KO2s arent great in sand but i dont deal with that much. Also not my favorite in snow now that i think about it. With that said next round I might switch it up and try Falken Wildpeaks or or Nittos Terra Grapplers. I hear good things about those as well. Definately buy tires based on neded function, if they provide the look you want as well congrats on a double whammy.

Well, yes and no! Let me explain, I'm not justifying, just showing my work, if you will.

Yes: I like the looks of All Terrain tires.

No: I chose the Wildpeaks due to the 4.8 of 5 star review rating with over 800 reviews.

AS TO MY NEEDS, I'm not sure that I even know what they are yet. I've only owned the 4Runner for 3000 miles and have been focused on just getting all of the mechanicals back up to par.

So until I figure out what my exact NEEDS are, I'm going to go with what I LIKE that meets the criteria that I want satisfied.

So yes, it both can and not be based on looks at the same time.

Tires

I've been wondering the same. What's the biggest I can mount on my stock 16's
I believe I can get the BF Goodrich 285/75/16s
Has anyone else had any luck mounting those?

265/75/16s is generally considered the largest tire that can be used without requiring modifications to prevent rubbing.

Anyway, I'll mosey along now but couldn't resist commenting on your main prerequisite for your tire search.

I have Cooper AT3 and will not use again. Discount tire tried to balance it twice but still has a small steering wheel wobble at 65 MPH. Thread is still good but that wobble makes me to choose something else.

Yokohama is my next choice.

I have Wrangler Trailrunner A/T's that I got at Discount Tire for 700$ and a 75$ rebate. They're supposed to last a long time and they look beastly. They're kevlar-lined and I've run over boards with massive nails with no damage. I'd really recommend these tires.
