What tires do y’all use?

I’ve been searching the internet for weeks trying to figure out what tires would look good with my 4runner. But I don’t have a lot of direction. So what do y’all run? Also what do you recommend?

That's a big loaded question which can only lead to more questions.

Suck as, what are your goals/intentions (only highways or lots of off roading) for the vehicle?

What size wheels do you have?

Any existing lift or desire for one?

Budget?

Probably lots more questions yet it's a start.

Luck and enjoy your Runner.

Michelin LTX M/S is as good as it gets, assuming you drive strictly on road and don't feel the need to look like an off road enthusiast.

Digging the falken wild peaks we just put on... they look tough, ride smooth and quiet, have good wet road performance and I’m guessing the off road traction is gonna be great for an a/t

they are fantastic. before i had my 4runner, my roommate has an old dodge w250 that had some hard old bald tires on it. we went up to the snow one season and had a lot of fun slipping around. the truck is very heavy so i think that is what saved our asses a lot.

then he got the wildpeaks last year and it was amazing going from one end of the specturm to the other. we looked at each other and both agreed that it probably wasnt the smartest idea to play in the snow on bald tires. atleast we were in a heavily populated area.

i liked those tires so much i bought them for my 3rd gen. my buddy just killed a set of M/Ts and has switched to the wildpeaks on his 3rd gen and is amazed by the difference in vibrations and road noise. i only have experience in snow, dry dirt, and wet asphalt but im assuming they would do great in the wet/mud as well.

The Goodyear Wranglers that come on the 2016+ Tacoma rims. Around my parts you can find in the classifieds new sets of Tacoma take-offs with one bead popped so they can remove the TPS for around $600.
You can hardly buy a set of tires alone for that. For $5 each the local tire shop will toss in a valve stem and seat the bead.
265/70r16

That or KO2's in the winter on the same rims and of same size.

Bonus, the Tundra calipers fit under the rims. Make sure to get the center caps in the deal. You don't want to buy those new.

Pit Bull Rocker Radials in 35x12.5x17. Get them and you will hate me. They suck ass on the highway. Crawling they are better then almost everything. It's a trade-off I accepted.

You lost me at "Looks Good". How about some low profile tires on 20 inch rims and some spinners to finish off the look? Those would look bad ass.

I'm a function over form guy, and while looks are important, I want to know first if the tires are going to perform well for me. Ideally, you choose a tire that does both for you.

Anyway, I'll mosey along now but couldn't resist commenting on your main prerequisite for your tire search.

I tried to get a pic but it's so fast on the track it's just a blur (36 second 0-60) and it's so capable off road that the tires are always buried in mud, in fact it's so good I don't even drive on the highway anymore, I just drive next to it in the mud
