You really shouldn't post your personal cell phone on a public forum like that. I'd remove it.

Hi Mike I can't answer your question but I might be able to give you some information.

I did a frame swap on a 97 last summer. unless you have the skills to do this work yourself? I would tell you it really does not make sense unless you have a super low miles + mint condition body.

doing everything myself I spent close to $3000 on parts/fluids. yes I have a brand new drive train now.

the problem is your probably not going to be able to re-use any of the suspension, brakes and lines, sensors, fuel lines. exhaust is also something that is probably not re-useable.

just souring a good frame/blasting/painting it will run $800 min.

it makes way more sense to head south and source a decent truck used from one of those little road side auto sales places. spend $5K-$6K and you will have a mostly rust free truck in usable condition.

my 2 cents. if you have a more specific scenario I could maybe help frame it for you. hope it helps.

I see you have a RI phone number, I know a 4runner/Tacoma scrap yard and sister shop in Providence, they may be able to do it. Not sure its worth it though paying someone else to do it. Its a lot of work, and also sourcing a good donor. I think most that go this route do the frame swap themselves.
If you want to go talk to the scrap yard, 170 Silver Lake Ave, Providence. The guy is Guatemalan, not always there, its a private yard, he exports stripped parts to Guatemala. I lost his phone number, best day to go is Saturday. The shop across the street is their friends, those are the guys that wrench.
Sat image shows yard on left at red marker, repair shop across street on right.

I don't see how at all this is cost effective. If you have the money to do a frame swap why not just go buy a mint 3rd in socal, 4th or 5th gen?

I did mine for a cash cost of under $2000 (see link in sig) and I now have a super reliable truck that has been maintained only by me since 1999 and is now fully POR15'd and equipped with many new parts. Much better than some unknown history socal rig with no new parts and may have been beat to death in the Mojave for all I know.

It's also a IJM '99 5-speed, which is trans, color and year I prefer and has a sound system also installed by me. Plus NJ is a long way from SoCal.

Given that I'm retired and had the time, I have no regrets.

This is why I plate them instead frame swapping frames. I agree with all the others it's not cost effective unless you diy.

It's my hobby to rebuild frames. It's a very time consuming process the way I do it but when I am done with the frames. They are extremely solid and do not have any factory frame holes left. The amount of time this takes would make it not affordable.

I dont think new frames can be purchased but I could be wrong. The price if they were would be 3k to 4k or more.
