Sometimes yes. I had one on my 09 Tocuma leak grease was under warranty. The dealer fixed it. 2 months later the boot leaked again. Toyota replaced it the axle. Never leaked again.

cv joint

are those the clamps that came with the axle? I got mine from napa and they look different. I would wipe off put new clamp on if it still leaks you have your answer

I’d just use the worm drive clamps linked above. I bought one off eBay when. I boot started leaking after my lift. Removed the OEM clamp and put on the worm drive hose clamp, hasn’t leaked since.
